It's baaaaaaaaaaack!

Plaid on Plaid

 Sweater: Joe Fresh
Shirt and bag: Thrifted
Pants: H&M
Loafers: Bass
My inspiration for this outfit came from the "Price is Right" section of last month's issue of NYLON magazine, titled "Checked Out," which featured three plaid-mixing outfits. I thought it was kind of incredibly awesome, so I decided to give it a try and this is what I came up with! I am seriously digging plaid this season. What do you think of the trend?

Hello everyone! It has literally been two months since I did a post and I have missed my blog quite a bit. I am home from college for the holidays and I've survived my first semester as a college student! I am getting old...
Anyway, I never thought it would happen, but it would seem that I've become very fond of turtle necks. I used to absolutely hate them because my mother would force me to wear them seemingly under everything during the winter when I was a little kid. They are seriously cozy and they're all over the place this fall/winter. Seriously...take a look:
1. New Look
2. Jil Sander
3. J Crew
4. Altuzarra
5. Peter Pilotto
6. Helmut Lang
7. Malene Birger
8.MICHAEL Michael Kors

Here's the Dilemma...

Hello everyone!

As you may or may have noticed, I haven't been posting frequently (at all). I'm not retiring this blog, I am simply informing my followers and anyone else who reads my blog, that this is the way it's going to be for quite some time. I started college at the beginning of September and I live in residence. The problem is that everyone who lives in residence has a weekly allowance of only 5GB of internet...let that sink in...to put it into plain terms, that is not a whole lot of internet. Blogging consumes a ton of that 5GB, which is why I've only been able to do 2 posts a week, tops. I'm thinking about possibly getting an external service provider (more GB) in the near future...but, for now I won't be posting frequently, which makes me sad. Please bear with me! I really appreciate all the love and support I've gotten from everyone who frequents my little bloggy!

xoxo, Quinn

Very Fancy

 Wearing: cardigan-thrifted; skirt-Topshop; wedges-Guess

Hello everyone! I can finally say that my (unannounced) hiatus had officially ended. I needed to focus on my school work for the past two weeks since I had a whirlwind of studying to do (the dreaded midterms...). I'm hoping to return to posting normally, though. I must admit that it is quite difficult for many reasons, one of which being that my weekly allowance of internet bandwidth is 5GB and if you've ever used the internet (which I'm assuming you have if you're reading this) you'll know that is a very measly amount! I'll probably be posting 3-4 times a week, ideally.
On to the outfit! Yes, I realize that I've basically worn this skirt in my past outfits quite frequently, but I'm honestly just trying to justify the fact that it cost $70...

Sparkle Motion

Wearing: top and shoes-thrifted; skirt-C/O Oasap; tights-C/O Tights Please; sunglasses-C/O Giant Vintage

I was contacted by Bernadette from the UK based Tights Please and asked to review a couple of pairs of tights from their shop. My first choice was these Pamela Mann sparkle tights! I love how they add an interesting spin on the otherwise plain black hosiery that we're used to seeing each fall. I immediately thought of the Chanel Fall 2012 couture collection when I saw them and was inspired by one of the looks from the collection along with one of my style icons, the always adorable Alexa Chung.

Your Heart is a Rhythm

Wearing: jacket-Collection B; bodysuit and shoes-thrifted; skirt-Topshop; socks-Ardene; earrings-C/O Oasap

The title of today's post comes from a song that's on the new Cat Power record, Sun. The track is called 'Manhattan' and it's a new favourite of mine. These eye earrings are a new addition to my ever growing jewelry collection and they're from Oasap. Also, it's sadly getting colder and I'm in dire need of some cozy new knits. I need to go on a thrifting adventure centered around fall knits ASAP because I'm sure a lot of my fellow thrifters would agree that they just don't make sweaters like they used to!

Fall Be Kind & Milanoo Review

 Wearing: blazer and jeans-thrifted; top-H&M; sneakers-C/O Milanoo; necklaces-gifts

Back in July, I fell in love with wedge sneakers a la Isabel Marant F/W 2012-2013 (check out my post, Wedge Sneakers: 3 Different Ways, for more styling tips) and I knew I needed to get my hands on a pair for fall. Most of my readers are probably familiar with online retailer, Milanoo, by now, who were kind enough to let me pick out an item for review, once again. keeping in mind that fall was approaching, I chose these black and white wedge sneakers. Not surprisingly, they are incredibly comfortable and garner a lot of compliments, too!

JW Anderson for Topshop

(Photos via Vogue UK and Topshop

At the beginning of September, Topshop launched yet another spectacular collaboration with a British designer. The quirky, yet wearable JW Anderson for Topshop collection is full of the same types of crazy prints you might expect to see going down a JW Anderson runway at LFW and includes ipad cases, note pads and even a sharpie marker(!?)! The collection is available now on the Topshop website and will be proceeded by another collaboration that we can expect to see sometime in early 2013.
